Thermometric Testing

The Thermometric Test provides evidence that the decontamination process and subsequent sterilization process are both performing to the required HTM guidelines. In the UK, HTM2030 currently governs Washer/Disinfector validation and HTM2010 governs Sterilizers. A new document, HTM01, is due to be launched in the near future which will supercede both legislative guidelines.

What You Will Need

A Thermometric Test Kit usually comprises of the following:

• Data Logger & Software or Chart Recorder
• Temperature Reference Unit or Millivolt Source
• Temperature Sensors
• Pressure Calibrator (Sterilizer testing only)
• Pressure Sensor (Sterilizer testing only)

A laptop is also required if using logging software and generating Validation Reports. Compilation can be greatly assisted with dedicated Report Generation software which will reduce the amount of time spent creating these in depth documents.

Thermometric Test requirements are also governed by Authorised Persons who will then sign off completed validation reports, monitoring the decontamination and sterilization processes within their area.
